Dragon Age 2

This has been a the sequel a lot of us have been waiting for, is it what we expected? I will let you know. Bioware caught our attention with the first Dragon Age, there way of creating a game with such a unique and interesting storyline and characters, made voyaging with your band of troops an enjoyable experience.  Dragon Age 2 (D.A. 2) did make an impact however not as big compared to it's first title. Combat is fluid, a lot more than the previous one, you get the sense of control that's almost instant (1:1). Moving your character around has been simplified slightly, stamina is no longer required to run. when in the midst of the action dont be afraid to switch through your characters during gameplay, you will be expected to do so during some points of the game.  The game itself is beautiful, I find myself at times stopping to admire the scenery. The one area I would say that bothers me the most would have to be the storyline, from the beginning of the game we are being told the story of our main character, Hawke. As we venture on in D.A. 2 we are brought back to these cut scenes where they continued telling our story. This was an aspect of the game I wish they changed. There could have been another way to tell the story. Other than this, the game was fast paced and if you have played Dragon Age: Origins, I strongly suggest you buy the sequel one. The game is of great quality and deserves to be started over at least Three times. 7.5/10

Ninja Storm 2

Ninja Storm 2, an amazing game from Namco Bandai, being able to play through the Naruto storyline is a great concept. What I would like to see is a similar Bleach game to come from these guys, however, this is an experience on it own.  The battles get intense as soon as you jump in, the animation cut scenes for your chakra specials are intriguing and satisfying. In free battle, players have full control over a character of their choice, as well as the moves of their character. This makes Storm 2 similar to other Bandai fighting games. The story mode was a little annoying when it came to traveling to my next mission; simply walking across town was boring and I felt they could have made it a lot more interesting. Online play was brutal and had me avoiding ranked matches. Overall this game was beautiful and is definitely a must play. 8.0/10

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

This was an amazing action adventure, one of Sony's best games out there. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, bring you on an epic adventure in search of the entrance to Shangri-La. The shooting mechanics are fluid and the choice of weapons is spectacular. There is hand to hand combat which makes approaching the bad guy even more interesting. Having to explore the terrain hasn't been so much fun, I simply enjoy jumping and climbing around to unlock these puzzles. the cut scenes were amazing and drew me into the game as I was progressing. Voiceovers and sound FX are wonderful and captures you when playing. This game has a modern day Indiana Jones feel and is a must buy, I have nothing bad to say about it. 10/10

Mass Effects 2

Bioware how much I love you. The versatility you all have is just fantastic. MassEffects 2 offers gamers the opportunity to explore the milky way after spending 2 year being genetically reconstructed. You are commander Shepherd and you are well known. Its up to you to work for the Cerberus in order to find out what they have been up to. The fate of humanity is in your hands. This 3rd person shooter is amazing, it has it all; an amazing storyline, diverse characters, fantastic gameplay and of course being a Bioware game that does mean a lot of interaction. Gameplay mechanics are fluid and the gameplay is exhilarating. Being able to control your ship and navigate around the galaxy does take up your time between missions, however this give you choice where you would like to go first. With loads of side missions Mass effect can easily take up a day of your time depending how into it you get. I am not one to complain when it comes the term "hours of fun". Mass effects 2 was just amazing. 9.5/10

Bioshock 2

This was a new way to play First Person Shooter. When I first played Bioshock this was one of those times where i felt in control when exploring this underwater city. Taking control of big daddy; subjet Delta was something I have never experience before. Having a weapon in one hand while using your free hand to cast elemental plasmid attack was a great concept. Their level are very easy to explore and there is always something interesting around every corner. 2K did me proud with the whole adam collecting as well as finding little sisters in order to collect a lot more of it. Choosing whether or not to set them free in a humain manner was always fun, paying the price of meeting the big sister however did change my views for a little while. The shooting mechanics in the game are amazing and the new weapons I found further in the game made things interesting. I was disappointed on how many Little Sister were around to find, I was hoping for a lot more. Despite this I am happy to say Bioshock two has made me anxious for Bioshock: Infinite. Bioshock 2 is easily one of my favourite FPS. 8.0/10

Red Dead Redemption

This was just a beautiful experience, Red Dead Redemption is a lot more than "Grand Theft Horse". Rockstar did us very proud with this amazing storyline, fluid gameplay and sense of joy that I can relate to when I first played GTA3. The gameplay is amazing. Having control of John Marston in this open world of Mexico and border California makes Rockstar what they are today; Gods among men when it comes to these games. The shooting mechanics could not be any better, this is what Rockstar is known for; delivering perfection on every aspect of shooting in a game. From the reaction the body makes when getting shot (even when shots are not lethal), to the effect when shooting while riding your horse around. They know what they are doing. Rockstar wasn't shy when it came to riding around, giving us the ability to ride our horse anywhere, being able to walk up and interact with anyone. They have really given us a real cowboy game where you can do just about anything a cowboy does. Now there are tons of downloadable packs, you bet taking your game even further is more than suggested. The only thing I found wrong with this game was that the story mode wasn't over 40hrs. A definite buy. 9.0/10

Batman: Arkham Asylum

One of the many Batman games that give you the proper feeling of what it is to be Batman. From the beginning you get the sense of being this bad ass vigilantly. Arkham gave Batman back his title for video games, this was easily the most fun I've had, comparing it to Lego: Batman. If your are looking to go for the 3D glasses don't bother, it's become more of a nuisance then an effect. We also get to play as The Joker if you download it off PSN, but we only get to play with him in challenge maps. This is a must buy must play on the PS3, Batman: Arkham Asylum, an amazing creation. 8.5/10

Grand Turismo 5

A racing experience like no other, GT5 offers a variety of things from cars to tracks and much more. There is some loading time when you install the game to your  HDD, however that is understandable for the amount of cars and tracks offered. The game mechanics are great, you feel the difference when you make any changes to your car; used or new. With such an attention to detail, Grand Turismo 5 is easily the best racing game to date. This game did deliver an amazing racing experience however there was one problem. The menu screen before races, was not well set up, with all the time GT5 took they were not able to make a menu screen where you can see everything clearly from your seated. You are even provided with a zoom feature, as if we are expected to see one on our game screen. Other than the menu this game was a wonderful experience. 8.0/10

Dragon Age: Origins

When it comes to RPG's I am not one to brag, I don't play them often but I found myself spending tens of hours playing this game. This was a very well made, the cinematics and voice overs just blew me away. the storyline is great, being able to create your character and choose what "Kin" you are from the start make it able to start over and pick an array of combination's. The unique characters you meet  throughout the game make it enjoyable to gather a team and journey along. Bioware has offered us a great product with Dragon Age, amazing game worth ever penny.  9.0/10

Splatterhouse

Hmm Splatterhouse a game that attracts such a unique clientele, this game seemed to offer more than just your typical bloodbath brawler, but not everything is as it seems. This was just another one of those extremely bloody games that was trying to be something its not. I've played my share of hack and slash and/or beat-em-up brawlers but there has to be more then a just killing, this wasn't something that I expected. Splatterhouse could have done alot better overall the took splatterhouse and grinded it into the dirt. 6.5/10
